On November 14th of last year we had our first dinner banquet.  The banquet was from 6ppm to 8pm at the Emerald Event Center, 33040 Just Imagine Dr, in Avon.  The dinner banquet allowed us to bring mental health awareness to the county in a unique and fun way.  The event was well attended by our Board of Directors, staff, NAMI members, volunteers, and the general public.

The keynote speaker was  Youngstown’s own, Catherine Bossley, who will spoke on mental health as it relates to cyberbullying.  In addition, awards were given to those in the county who personified NAMI’s mission of mental health education, advocacy, and support groups.

Here were our award winners;

Law Enforcement Officer of the Year – Officer Spencer Grummel

Dr. Malcolm L. Peel Award – Lauren Cieslak – Bahnsen

Volunteer of the Year award – Donna Burton

Holly Henderson Inspiration Award – Holly St. Cyr
