NAMI of Lorain County is starting a Peer to Peer class in September.

Peer-to-Peer Education is a free, 8-session course provided for individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness. It is offered exclusively by teachers who have experienced good recovery from their illness. Enrollees learn about the nature and biology of brain disorders, how successful treatment works, the challenges consumers face, succeeding with medical treatment, the importance of record-keeping, and what systems affect consumers and require advocacy. NAMI brings hope and encouragement through this course.

Classes begin Tuesday, September 20th and are from 2:30 – 4:00 pm. Class is held at the NAMI-LC office.

To register, call the office at 440-240-8477, or email us.
